On July 1, Bonhams auction house will organize Knightsbridge sales in Great Britain. The auction will represented over 500 items, mainly ancient furniture, rugs and also ancient works of the European art.

Sculpture of God▓s Mother is estimated at GBP10 000-15 000. The Saint is represented crowned holding the baby in her hands. The baby, in his turn holds a roll. The similar sculpture was sold at Sotheby▓s in New York on January, 2007. The sculpture is unique in fact that the baby has a roll in his hands. The thing is that while depicting God▓s Mother and the baby in the XV century it was approved to represent small Jesus with pigeon in his hands.

The chest made of walnut is of the same estimate. It was made in the middle of the XVI century. Its lock is rather interesting. It is executed in a form of the letter ╚H╩. Chest walls are decorated with relief images of dancing women in masks. The moon is represented in the middle of the lock. This object is typical for the XVI century.

Among other interesting lots is sculpture of lion executed in Gothic style. It dates approximately to the XVII century. The lot is estimated at GBP3000√4000.

The table created in the XVI century is estimated at GBP4000√6000.

A list of top lots also includes sculpture Prince of Apostles made of oak. It is a rare Gothic work. Apostle Peter is represented sitting at the pulpit, dressed in the same clothes as the first Pope. The hand of Apostle Peter is blessing parishioners. His clothes are decorated with refined floral motives. The lot is estimated at GBP8000√12 000.

Big and very rare bronze bell made by Genrick Horst in the XVII century in Holland is estimated at no more than GBP2000√3000. Horst▓s workshop was considered one of the best in Europe. Horst specialized in manufacture of bells and mortars. One of his mortars was sold in December, 2006 at Sotheby▓s.

Another interesting lot is bronze inkwell of the XVI century executed by Master Nicolo Tribolo. The work represents Pan sitting on a tun of wine and playing a pipe. The lot is estimated at GBP2000√3000.

The auction will represent not only furniture and sculptures but also Gobelins and rugs. Among highlights is the Flemish Gobelin of the XVII century with weaved woodland scenery, restored for some times. There is a view of a waterfall on a background. The Gobelin is estimated at GBP2000√3000.
