January 15, 17 and 21 the cinema, music and show businesses objects auction took place at Scottsdale (USA). The sale organizer was Cooper Owen auction house together with American Barret-Jackson auctioneers association. The catalogues included 554 lots. Most of the highlights were sold during the first auction day.

Among the top lots the organizers named objects related to the famous Liverpool Four «The Beatles». The reason of such preference may be connected with the «Meet The Beatles» disc cover December boom: it was put up for the ItsOnlyRockNRoll.com Internet auction. The sale of the cover signed by the all the group members started from $25,000 and finally reached $115,228. By the way, Cooper Owen’s became a successful auction house after the text of the «All you need is love» song being sold for GBP690,000 ($1,250,000) at the first auction of the house.

The handwritten text of The Beatles’ «While My Guitar Gently Weeps» song («White Album», 1968) became the auction’s «star». The auctioneers of Cooper Owen intended to sell this script of George Harrison for $500,000–$800,000. This sheet has words that were not included into the final version, and Harrison’s additional phrase: «The band leader said he would not play anymore». Experts think that it is the evidence of the tension in the relationships between John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The lot was sold for $600,000.

The second highlight was John’s Lennon military orchestra jacket. Estimated in a range of $400,000–500,000 it was not bought by anyone. The Lennon’s watercolor, that experts thought to be one of the most expensive objects ($70,000–100,000), was sold below the estimate, for $52,000.

A Bill Hailey’s acoustic six-string guitar together with his cooper sculpture (estimated $350,000–450,000), considered by experts to be a more or less «bright» lot, was not sold at all. Eric Clapton’s electric guitar (estimated $70,000–80,000) was purchased for $36,000.

«Breakfast at Tiffany’s» movie poster signed by Audrey Hepburn has not become very popular. The poster was estimated at $5,000–7,000. Quite a low price, especially if to recall the success of Hepburn’s black dress from «Breakfast at Tiffany’s» the Christie's auction on December 5, 2006 (London). The dress was sold for GBP410,000, being estimated at GBP50,000-70,000. The poster made $500. The price expectations concerning the USA rock-n-roll king Elvis Presley’s things were also too optimistic. His own jacket (estimated at $3,500–4,500) was sold for $900, a poster from the Hilton hotel in Las Vegas (estimated at $2,000–3,000), for $450.

It is hard to explain such a situation bearing in mind that 1.5 hours before the first day of the auction order bids were made for all of the highlights.
