Glerum in Amsterdam has sold out wines from every corner of the globe

On June 8, Glerum auction house held the sales named Fine & Rare Wines. The auction represented a wide choice of Bordeaux wines. Moreover, there were mixed lots consisting of drinks of different harvest and different producers.

Among French regions which are engaged in wine production were factories of Champagne, Alsace, Loire and other provinces. Among the European countries were producers from Italy, Spain, Portugal and Austria. The auction also represented Southern Africa, the USA, New Zealand and Australia.

According to organizers, the quality of wines put up for auction sales, increases annually owing to special experts Karl de Graaf and Frank Jacobs. They have been degustating wines for about 30 years. From 2003 they are experts in Amsterdam Auctioneers Glerum.

The auction represented 746 lots. Estimate for the 1994 Le Montrachet Grand Cru reached ┬200√400 for 2 bottles. Ten bottles of Meursault 1999 were estimated at ┬150√250. Wines of the same kind were presented at the auction in such assortment: 12 bottles of Meursault 2003 sold for ┬220; 12 bottles of Meursault ' Les Corbins ' 2004, bought for ┬180. These wines were made at Michel Picard.

Twelve bottles of Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru 1999 in an original cardboard box were estimated at ┬320√550. Twelve bottles of Bourgogne ' Non Filtre ' 2005 were sold for ┬120. Wines Bourgogne ' Non Filtre ' 2005 of the same producer (Marc Colin and Fils, Saint-Aubin) were also sold by auction on June 8. Twelve bottles Chateau Carbonnieux 2000 in an original wooden box were sold for ┬300. Twelve bottles of Chateau Lagrange 2003 made in Pomerol in an original wooden box were sold for ┬200.

Not all wines of the best taps presented at the auction were purchased by collectors. For example, Chateau Mouton Rothschild (1979) estimated at ┬1000-1500 was not sold. Twelve bottles of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1973 were sold for ┬800 by auction. Both taps are made in Pauillac. Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1975 (┬260 for 4 bottles) and Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1976 (┬340 for 6 bottles) were also produced in Pauillac.
