Autumn is a harvest time. November is generous on significant events in art and antique market and cultural life. World auction houses are preparing for last sales of the year, holding previews and striking the balance of the year 2007 that was fertile in sensations. In November the long-awaited conference of porcelain makers Vinogradov Readings will take place in St. Petersburg.
The main event of the autumn for the Russian art dealers and collectors was the XXIII Antique Salon held in the Central House of Artists in Moscow in late October. The Antique Salon was not just an annual exhibition any more but a place where a pulse of the Russian art market beats and its problems are solved. Year after year the number of the participants and the level of its organization are growing. These facts plus the higher attention of the world society to events in Russia make us hope that the national art market is getting an international status.
