A collection of artworks by legendary jazz star Miles Davis will be displayed for the first time in Edinburgh, Scotland on Wednesday, September 21. His last painting, entitled ╚Gold Face╩, will form part of an exhibition called ╚The Art of Miles Davis╩ at the Dome Restaurant.
According to gallery owner Jonathan Poole, who previously hosted photographic exhibitions of John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe at the Dome, the famous trumpet player ╚always drew, but all his paintings were from the last ten years of his life; he never used an easel╩.
Miles Davis began painting after suffering a stroke in 1980, which stopped him from being able to play the trumpet. He died in 1991.
