The Russian Federal Surveillance Service for Compliance with the Law in Mass Communications and Cultural Heritage Protection in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region (Rossvyazokhrankultura) and the Russian Restorer’s Association (Rosregionrestoration) summed up the results of 2007 and represented a plan of work for 2008.

Artyem Novikov, the president of the Russian Restorer’s Association told that in 2007 there were opened and worked successfully branches in Kaliningrad, Irkutsk, Nigniy Novgorod, Pskov and Astrakhan.

In 2008 the Association plans to organize the All-Russian Restorer’s Employment Exchange. It has to be the full base of information as to all working professions of restorers and restorers of applied art.

The Association concluded some international agreements last year. Among them is the agreement with the State Body of Memorials Protection and Restoration in Hungary Republic. In the bounds of this agreement days of Russian Restores in Hungary and their Hungarian colleagues in Russia are planed to be realized. It will demonstrate work experience of specialists of both countries.

One more agreement is concluded with the Craftsmen Chamber of Ministry of Labour in France. The target is to get professional skills concerning restoration, the use of technologies and exchange of experience between the Russian and French restorers.

The Russian Restorer’s Association began its work on monitoring and certification of objects of cultural heritage in Leningrad region. According to its president’s words owing to this work there will be a full base of information about monuments of history and culture in Leningrad region.

Since 2007 the Association has been realizing the certification according to the ISO 9001 international system of management quality for restorer’s organizations and producers of materials.
