Indeed, the early spring is surely boosting our spirits. This year we shall celebrate Easter quite early too. In this issue of “Antiq.Info”, you can learn about representation of Holy Week in Russian icon-painting tradition, as well as in European engravings and prints. Speaking about the great feast, we cannot but mention celebrated Faberge Easter eggs. In the beginning of XX century, the last Russian Emperor used to present those eggs with surprises hidden inside to his relatives.
The international scholarship conference of porcelain manufacturers and experts “Vinogradov Readings 2007” will take place in St. Petersburg this fall. Within the frames of the joint project of “Antiq.Info” and îÅlenika Center, we are starting a series of publications, dedicated to participants of the important conference. Find an interview with renowned collector of Meissen porcelain D.M. Bernhardt von Barsewisch in the current issue.
Oldtimer-Gallery of Ilya Sorokin has already launched the spring-summer season. We are looking forward for new competitions and automobile fairs.
Of course, we are waiting edgily for the opening of XXII Antique Fair in Moscow – the major spring event on the art and antiquarian market. You will find detailed report about the Fair’s work in our next issue.
Greetings to all on the holiday of Christ’s Resurrection!
