In the beginning was the site...
In 1999, an initiative group created a site dedicated to art and antiques. As our clientele grew, in 2001 we decided to establish a company — CJSC «Russian Antique». Soon after that we started our first publishing project, which was called «Almanac “Russky Antikvar”» (Russian Antique Trader). By 2002 the company prepared and published two issues of the almanac. At the same time, we were preparing another unique project — publication of an album, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the costume ball in the Winter Palace. At the beginning of 2003 we officially registered and began to publish a monthly magazine «Antiq.Info», dedicated to antiquarian business — the magazine that you are holding now. Today «Antiq.Info» magazine is our core project, around which all our affiliate and partner programs and services are centered. When the first number issue of «Antiq.Info» was published, «Russian Antique» was admitted to membership in the Russian Guild of Antique Dealers (Moscow), while at the beginning of 2007 we became members of the Association of Antique Dealers of St. Petersburg. «Antiq.Info» is the official organ of these public organizations.
During four years of its existence, the magazine has repeatedly been the media sponsor of different displays, art projects and rallies of retro automobiles. We support any new activities in the sphere of history and art, including search for stolen antique pieces and artworks. For the serious contribution to development of antiquarian market, we have been rewarded with diplomas and certificates from the public organizations and state institutions. In August 2007, the Agency for Preservation of Cultural Values expressed gratitude to «Antiq.Info» magazine for the large contribution to preservation and restitution of the cultural heritage of Russia. In 2006 we signed partner agreement with «La Gazette de l’Hotel Drouot», and became the official representative of this important edition on the territory of the Russian Federation and CIS.
